Questions, Questions, Questions! But Do You Have Any Answers?

Do you desire to know God? Are you wondering the purpose of your existence? Have the trials and experiences of life left you with many unanswered questions? Have you turned to people only to be disappointed? Has life dealt you a bad hand? Is there a draw or yearning within your heart towards something greater than you are? Has world success left you saying, there has to be more? Do you see life crowded with lusts, addictions, sicknesses, mental stresses, and the like? Are you a law-abiding citizen or are you a law-breaker? Are you uncertain about the existence and story of Jesus Christ? Do you believe that you can know God without first accepting Christ? Do you lie, gossip, steal, covet, fornicate, commit adultery, or even hate someone? Has someone done you wrong or wronged someone you love? When you die, can you be certain that heaven will be your home?

The above questions described situations that people encounter in life. Unless Jesus Christ is already Lord and Savior of your life through open confession and repentance (turning away from past sins), then you are living life separated from God’s oversight, blessings and promises. Ephesians 2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: Acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

The following information is a guide to steer you into a real relationship with God. That relationship is through His Son Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Knowledge needed to become a follower of Jesus Christ.
For your understanding and benefit, I advise that you read the following information in the order it is listed.

  • Who is Jesus Christ?
He is the Son of God that takes away our sin: Matthew 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

  • What is the gospel of Jesus Christ?
It is the good news that God has fulfilled a promise made to Abraham centuries ago. The promise to Abraham was that He would personally watch over and bless the off spring of Abraham. The promise included spiritual, emotional, physical and earthly prosperity. As well as protection and salvation from the enemies his off-spring would encounter. Genesis 12:3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curses thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. Genesis 22:17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; Galatians 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: Galatians 3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

  • What is a born-again Christian or a saved person?
A person who begins life anew by repentance of sin and believing in Christ as savior from sin. A Christian is expected to govern their lives by the Word of God. John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides for ever. Romans 5:8 But God commended his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. Matthew 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

  • What is sin?
The voluntary departure of a moral agent from a known rule of rectitude or duty, prescribed by God; any voluntary transgression of the divine law, or violation of a divine command; a wicked act; iniquity. Sin is either a positive act in which a known divine law is violated, or it is the voluntary neglect to obey a positive divine command, or a rule of duty clearly implied in such command. Sin comprehends not action only, but neglect of known duty, all evil thoughts purposes, words and desires, whatever is contrary to God's commands or law. 1 John 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 1 John 3:5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 1 John 3:6 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. (also read Matt. 15. James 4). Actual sin, above defined, is the act of a moral agent in violating a known rule of duty. Original sin, as generally understood, is native depravity of heart to the divine will, that corruption of nature of deterioration of the moral character of man, which is supposed to be the effect of Adam's apostasy; and which manifests itself in moral agents by positive act of disobedience to the divine will, or by the voluntary neglect to comply with the express commands of God, which require that we should love God with all the heart and soul and strength and mind, and our neighbor as ourselves. This native depravity or alienation of affections from God and his law, is supposed to be what the apostle calls the carnal mind or mindedness, which is enmity against God, and is therefore denominated sin or sinfulness. 4. Sin differs from crime, not in nature, but in application. That which is a crime against society, is sin against God.

  • Why make the decision to become a Christian/ believer/follower of Jesus Christ?
No matter how much good you do, know that you can never live perfect enough in this life to please to God. Isaiah 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness’s are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

1. By nature humanity is disobedient to the laws of God. Whether it is lies, stealing, lust, greed, or even lack of love and disrespect? Try gossiping, talking about your boss – all of these things and the like are lawless/disobedience to the rules given to rule life. Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one-man sin entered into the world and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: Because of our actions, the judgment or penalty for breaking the law/rules will be executed upon those who have not accepted Jesus as the payment for their disobedience. Romans 3:20-23 by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

2. When you have not accepted Jesus as Lord and the reconciler between God and man, you are outside of the blessing of knowing God is working for you and you lack the knowledge and power to see and experience life as you were meant to.

3. If you do not accept Jesus, one day the wrath of God will come upon you. Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness. The judgment of God is awaiting lawbreaker or sinners. God is giver the of life, the proper rules of life, and judge of all to whom He has given life. John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

4. You will not be judge by God according to the law and rules He set, but you will be accepted by God because of your faith in Jesus Christ who has already taken the punishment for your sins and wrongs Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. Romans 8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh.

  • Why so many religions and personal beliefs if Christ is the only way to have a true relationship with God? Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night forever and ever. John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.

  • What must you do to be a Christian - saved - born - again. You must believe the testimony of Jesus Christ. Pray to Jesus, asking that He would take away your sins. Openly confess your sins and wrongs to Him. Ask Him to govern your life. With His help turn away from wrong and do what is right. Afterwards confess to someone that you are a believer and follower of Jesus. Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

  • Now pray this prayer to become a follower of Jesus and a son/daughter of God. Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that Jesus died for me, that His death and blood is the payment accepted by You for my sins and wrongs. I believe that Jesus rose from the grave by Your power and that He is in heaven .Lord Jesus Christ I call on your name to forgive me of my sins( acknowledge sins now) and wash me clean in spirit and mind. Lord Jesus I bow my heart to you asking that You would come into my spirit and heart. Take control of my life from this moment on. I now commit my life and spirit into your hands for guidance and teaching. Thank you for saving me and guiding me the rest of the days of my life.

Knowledge for the Christian Life

Immediately get a bible (you can start reading from the following books Mark, John, Romans, and Hebrews)Cultivate a life of prayer: do it daily (no set amount of time). Ask for the Holy Spirit (Acts Seek  out a church where prayer and preaching/teaching from the bible is a priority. Also, look for somewhere that lifts up the Name of Jesus. In prayer ask for God’s r guidance first. Separate yourself from bad influences, but be nice to all people

Salvation is an event - the Christian life is a process

You have an adversary called the devil that will try to pull you back into the wrong and the previous way you thought. Go to the word of God for all things.

Life will not be perfect - your faith in God will be tested.  Trials, tribulations, sickness,, financial lack ,etc., happen  to sinners and saints alike. The key is to trust in what God says( in the bible) about your situation. then trust that He will make good on it.

Christians are not perfect nor is there a perfect church.  Sometimes God’s people do not behave properly .If you are subject to another believer doing you wrong, forgive, forget and move on. This way is pleasing to God.

Don’t think that all that happens to you is from God.  Talk all things over with Him Suffering can be part of the Christian life

Things to Know about God

God operates/works according to our faith and the promises  He has made to His people

God does not work/function like man – his ways may sometimes seem confusing

Faith is not what you see, but what God has said

God does not always answer when and how we expect

God is more faithful than you can imagine, and His love and care will remain with you, if you remain with Him
